In this house In this room Another numb, warm Season in these walls In this warm silent place, I am vapid and filled with dust - All is vacant; empty husks, I leave myself vulnerable, again Yet so subdued, I'm wrapped in stagnation - buried in sediment, and my solitude. Give it to me - Give me someone warm and empty Go on and give this-to-me Without this, I don't know what I'd be Leave me something Warm and hollow Show me you're empty Show me you're empty Show me you're empty Come on now and fill me Something deep into me What I wouldn't give to fill these holes inside of me To replace with something An object of some meaning To make me useful, worthy of one better than myself I'll give anything I'd take anything for Someone hollow, far away, and destitute like me Someone who feels this way Somewhere I can hideaway

What thing is this attached to me? Am I apart of it or it to me? Am I inside of it? Is it inside of me? What piece of its inside of me? Can I find out just who it sees? I don't recognize it. I don't recognize him. Tear this away Gaze out through this haze Let this fall away Days draw like a blade Lead me away In this place I am nothing In this place, there is nothing here In this place, I’ll lose nothing In this place, I’ll have nothing left In this place, I’ll keep nothing In this place, I’ll hold nothing dear In this place, I’ll choose nothing In this place, I’ll have nothing left at all

Amongst these towers of fire All in ash When buried under desire Nothing lasts Sifting through this decay Through these ruins Every piece consumes Me in silence Drown me Silence me Please, please, just... Drown me in Silence me Please, please, please... Something still If I could, I'd destroy the world Everything and everyone Just for that one moment Just stand over it, all in black ruin So calm, so so silent To watch, to weep with relief To sit, to watch everything burn and cinder To leave this world in ash

You're already gone It started how it always does You’re enjoying this You'll suffer all of it The glimmer of all its sides You’re drifting upon its sails You’ll glaze over it You wanted it to breathe Now, look at all the space Lay inside of it Wanted this instead But now it's old and dead Into the sun After all this time You're going back Out of reach You wanted it to bend But instead, you buried it And now it's gold And now you're wary Of what you hold near It's holding you back It's holding you steady But you won't let go You're already dead Already dead You're already dead Already dead They’re coming through for all of us Go down the halls in red Or hang your face Cause you were never really here A thing of lead n bone Cracked and ripped You were just afraid In all the perfect ways To lose it all Wanted this and bled Regret, it's maiden hand Into the sea After all this light You're blacking out Out of reach It's holding you breathless But you won't let go You're already dead Already dead You're already dead Already dead

Employing towering walls of atmosphere, Los Angeles, CA, duo Bethdamah play with equal parts heft and restraint. David Renteria and Chris Stagnaro began the project in 2015, when noise sessions in a dimly lit rehearsal space quickly evolved into something more meaningful. The result is their debut album, Western Windows, a reflection on the cyclical nature of isolation, depression, procrastination, and self loathing.

Bringing to mind early Hydra Head Records, Bethdamah combines industrial, shoegaze, ambient, and metal to create a sorrowful sound of their own. The band’s dense, self-recorded production nods towards influences such as Nine Inch Nails, Planning for Burial, and Have a Nice Life, taking full advantage of the stereo-field to ornament their songs–close listening is rewarded. An introspective snapshot of longing, loss, and gloom, Western Windows is a must-listen for fans of downcast music.
